Olson, Edward W.
Edward W. Olson, 75, died Saturday, Aug. 15, 2009, at Central Community Hospital in Elkader following a long illness. Celebration of Life: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Peace United Church of Christ in Elkader, with Pastor Andrea Mericle officiating. Private family inurnment: East Side Cemetery. Visitation: 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Leonard Funeral Home in Elkader and after 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Mary of Elkader; his daughters, Melissa (Edmund) Patrick of Harpers Ferry, Cindy (Mike) Cook of Elkader and Jennifer Olson of Elkader; five grandchildren, Michelle (Calvin) Fredlake, Michael (Jennifer) Cook, Heather Patrick, Stephanie (Jeremy) McGrirt and Benjamin Patrick; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Eleanor MacTaggart of Elkader and Lillian Nold of Elkader; and a multitude of friends.
