Olga Will, 95, passed away on Jan. 13, 2023, in Iowa City.
A visitation will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 20, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church of Iowa City, followed at 2 p.m., with a memorial service officiated by Pastor Brent Hartwig. Graveside committal will be held in the future at West Point Cemetery.
Olga Louise Will was born on July 29, 1927, at the Jane Lamb Hospital in Clinton, Iowa, daughter of Max and Kathe (Schultz) Will. In 1934, she moved with her family to their farm near Janesville, Iowa. Olga graduated from Finchford Consolidated School in 1945 and from Gates Business College in Waterloo, Iowa, in 1946.
At age 19, Olga began her professional career with Wildes Construction Co. in Waterloo. In 1955, she moved to Iowa City, Iowa, to work with the Viggo M. Jensen Construction Company. She retired in 1985.
Olga and her sister Caroline took many trips to Cody, Wyo., to visit family including their sister Maxine Wilden and her daughter, Donna and Donna’s family. Travelling throughout the United States and the backroads of Iowa were favorite pastimes.
Volunteer work with the Iowa Mountaineers, Iowa Hall, Mercy Hospital and The University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics were activities Olga enjoyed. She was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Iowa City, Iowa. Olga loved life and met a host of wonderful people.
Olga was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Maxine Willden; infant nephew, Edward Willden; and brother-in-law, Donald Wilden.
She is survived by her sister, Caroline Will; niece, Donna (Jerry) Kenney; and her great-niece, Macy Kenney.
