OLEN L. SCHROCK
Kalona
Olen L. Schrock was born Sept. 11, 1925, in Bremen, Ind., to Levi and Sarah (Yoder) Schrock. He was united in marriage to Mary E. Graber on Dec. 2, 1948, in Indiana. Olen died Sunday, Dec. 18, 2016, at Pleasantview Home in Kalona at the age of 91 years.
Survivors include his wife, Mary of Kalona; 10 children, Wayne (Norma) Schrock of Millersburg, Ind., P.R. (Sherry) Schrock of Wellman, John (Diane) Schrock of Wellman, Carl (Julie) Schrock of Syracuse, Ind., Lawrence (Linda) Schrock of Syracuse, Ind., Jay (Lori) Schrock of Kalona, Ezra (Dawn) Schrock of Wellman, Ruth (Lawrence) Schlabach of Kalona, Rachel (Mike) Wagler of Sigourney and Rosemary (Mark) Slabaugh of Kalona; 31 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sylvia Ropp and Alma (Daniel) Nisly; a brother, Leo (Nedra) Schrock; two sisters-in-law, Pauline Schrock and Fannie Schrock; and a brother-in-law, Perry Miller.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 21, at Fairview Mennonite Church, rural Kalona. Burial will be in Sharon Bethel Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, Dec. 20, at the church from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., where the family will greet friends from 1 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m.
A memorial fund has been established for Washington County Hospice and Gideon International. Yoder-Powell Funeral Home is caring for Olen and his family. Messages may be sent to the family at www.powellfuneralhomes.com.
