Oldham, Ronald Raydean
Ronald Raydean Oldham, 85, of Fairfax, rejoined his wife and family members who passed before him on Monday, April 16, 2012, at his home. A private service for family will take place.
Ron was born in Chicago, Ill., on Aug. 30, 1926, to Nora (Andre) and Virgil Oldham, and grew up in Mechanicsville, Iowa. He enlisted in the Navy in 1944 and served as a First Class Seaman. Following the service, he worked at Link Belt Speeder for 42 years as a machinist. Ron married Doris Rogers of Fairfax in April 1953. They enjoyed 51 years of marriage.
Surviving are his children, Sheree (Oldham) Zink of Livermore, Calif., and Edward Oldham of Fairfax; three granddaughters, Katie and Rachel Zink and Stacey Oldham; and a great-granddaughter, Kennedy.
Ron was an avid car enthusiast and was fondly referred to as “Roadmaster Ron” and was a great fan of NASCAR. He enjoyed the company and companionship of his best friend, Dick Bell.
Ron had a great sense of humor and will be missed by all who knew him.
“See you later alligator; in a while crocodile, but not too soon you big baboon.”
