Oldfather, Michael R.

Michael R. Oldfather, 58, of Cedar Rapids, went to his eternal home on July 9, 2010.

He was born Oct. 1, 1951, and was given Life in Volga, Iowa, in April 1956. Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 14, at River of Life Church, Cedar Rapids, by Pastor Steve Irwin, with military honors. The family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce Ann; six children, Carrie, Jason (Azusa), Ryan R. (Trisha), Lisa (Ben), Chrissy (Curtis) and Charlie (Richelle); his mother, Mary Williams Oldfather; 13 grandchildren; sister, Janet Meyer; and five nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Wally K. Oldfather on June 29, 2010.

Michael served his country with the United States Marines. On May 2, 1998, he married Joyce Ann Ghiotto at the Manchester United Methodist Church. Michael was a member of River of Life Church in Cedar Rapids.

Memorials may be made to River of Life Church or Autism Association of Cedar Rapids in memory of Michael.
