Ohrt, Gary David
Funeral services for Gary David Ohrt, 48, of Tipton, who died Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2011, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, at Fry Funeral Home, Tipton. Visitation will be Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Paul Frederiksen will be officiating.
Gary David Ohrt, son of Donald Eugene and Judy Kaye (Gray) Ohrt, was born April 18, 1962, in Iowa City, Iowa. He was a 1981 graduate of Tipton High School. On Sept. 29, 1984, Gary was united in marriage to Sandra Jean Behrens at United Methodist Church, Tipton. He assisted his brother-in-law in farming.
Gary is survived by his parents, Don and Judy Ohrt of Wilton; wife, Sandy Ohrt of Tipton; sons, Nathan (Ashley Tholen) Ohrt of North Liberty and Nick Ohrt of Waverly; sister, Kathy Villhauer of Wilton; brothers, Wayne Ohrt of Clarence and Steve (Linda) Ohrt of Tijeras, N.M.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Nikki Phelps; and niece, Jodi Phelps.
Memorials may be made to the Gary Ohrt Memorial Fund in memory of Gary.
