Oetken, Leslie C.
Leslie C. Oetken, 47, of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, Feb. 21, 2010. Celebration of Life services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday, March 1, at Cedar Hills Community Church, 6433 E Ave. NW, with Dr. Leonard Ranson presiding. Private family inurnment will be at a later date. Visitation will be one hour before services Monday at the church. Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids is in charge of her arrangements.
Leslie was born April 7, 1962, in San Juan, Puerto Rico, the daughter of Robert and Maria Bastine. She graduated from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor of Arts in psychology, and a master's degree in sociology. She was a research assistant for the University of Iowa.
Leslie is survived by her fiance, Kurtis Diers; her parents; her brother, Robert (Carlie) Bastine; and her children, Graham and Alexis Oetken.
Her children were her greatest joys.
Pray that we will always
remember her lovely smile and her warm, caring heart.
Pray that our hearts will let her go -
To play again as a child amid the Heavenly Angels.
She was loved by all who met her.
