Oepping, Jeffrey N.
Jeffrey N. Oepping passed away June 12, 2011, at the Hospice House in Spokane, Wash., following a lengthy illness.
Jeff was born Nov. 20, 1955 in Iowa City, the son of Raymond and Joyce Garvin Oepping.
He attended public schools in Cedar Rapids and technical college in Lincoln, Neb., where he excelled in machinist and tool maker courses. Jeff was employed in his trade in Lincoln and Anaheim and Lake Elsinore, Calif. He was a gunsmith in his own business.
In 1994, Jeff became ill with vascular disease, which disabled him. His health declined and he relocated to the Spokane area in 2008 to be with his family.
Jeff is survived by his father; stepmother, Judith Oepping; sisters, Lisanne Garvin and Susan (Rodney) Waltz; brother, Jonathan (Kylene) Oepping; his uncle, Jack Garvin; and Ron, Shirley and Mark Schafnit.
Deceased family members include his mother, Daniel Schafnit, Ronald Oepping and grandparents.
