Oelerich, Blanche R.

Blanche R. Oehlerich, 97, died Friday, Dec. 13, 2013, at the Keystone Nursing Care Center in Keystone. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 16, at St. John Lutheran Church in Keystone with the Rev. B. Andrew Wright officiating. Interment will be held at the Keystone Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Phillips Funeral Home in Keystone.

Blanche was born Aug. 10, 1916, near Keystone, to George and Rosa (Kuhl) Schoelerman. On Feb. 8, 1939, she was united in marriage to Ray. A. Oehlerich at Keystone. He preceded her in death in 1974.

Blanche was a lifelong member of St. John Lutheran Church in Keystone. She enjoyed playing bingo, her card clubs and bowling. She loved planting and growing flowers and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her children, Darwin (Ruth) Oehlerich of Keystone, Sharon Oehlerich of Cedar Rapids and JoAnn (James) Jenkins of Cedar Rapids; her grandchildren, Kim Mollenhauer, Kathy Stockdale, Kristi Pyburn, Michael Oehlerich, Jennifer Johnson, Kelly Eirp and Heather Stahl; 17 great grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one sister-in-law, Evelyn Hartz; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Verna Andresen and Lois Hertle; and her brothers, Wilbert and Leslie Schoelerman.
