Odell, Mitchell
Mitchell Odell, 21, of Cedar Rapids, left this earth on Saturday, April 21, 2012, in Ames, Iowa. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 26, at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Officiating will be the Rev. William B. Harnish. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Inurnment will take place at the Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
He is survived by his parents, Cathleen Wood (Mike Lorimer) and Michael Odell (Bonnie Seely); three brothers, Denver Linvell, Jason Linvell and Ryan Wood, all of Cedar Rapids; an aunt, Jan (Bob) Butterworth of Marion; a niece, Alyssa Linvell of Cedar Rapids; and many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lee and Shirley Odell and Patricia and Francis Schlicht.
Mitchell Odell was born Dec. 21, 1990, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Cathleen Wood and Michael Odell. Mitchell graduated from Washington High School in 2009. He loved life and enjoyed being outdoors. Mitchell also enjoyed fishing, snowboarding, baseball, soccer and pottery. But Mitchell's true passion was all the great times spent with his friends and family. His favorite pet companions were his cat, Mowgli; and dogs, Blue and Cooper.
Mitchell was a wonderful son, brother, nephew and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that people make a donation in Mitchell's name to the Cedar Valley Humane Society.
