Nyemeyer, Kathryn M.
Kathryn M.Neymeyer, 84, of Sunrise Hill Care Center, Traer, died Friday, Jan. 29, 2010 in the care center. Services: 10:30 a.m. United Methodist Church, Dysart. Burial: Dysart Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 6 p.m. today at the Overton Funeral Home, Dysart.
Kathryn Mary Neymeyer was born near Dysart, Iowa, on Dec. 2, 1925, to Benjamin and Mary (Schmidt) Pippert. She graduated from Dysart High School on May 11, 1944, and later that day, married her high school sweetheart, D. Eddie Ocheltree. They made their home in Dysart. Following Eddie's death in 1966, Kathryn followed her lifelong dream of becoming a beautician, graduating from Young's School of Beauty in Waterloo. She then opened a beauty shop in her home and continued to operate it for the next 30 years. She retired in 2005.
On May 24, 1975, she married Allen Neymeyer of Traer. He died in 1997. In November 2005, Kathryn became a resident of Sunrise Hill Care Center in Traer. Kathryn enjoyed time spent with her family, baking, sewing and working in her flower garden.
She is survived by her children, Vickie (Larry) Holst of Vinton, Jim (Bonnie) Ocheltree of Dysart, and Gloria (John) Albert of Indianapolis, Ind.; and Al's children, Janet Jesch of Vienna, Austria, Denny (Colleen) Neymeyer of Woodinville, Wash., Doug (Annie) Neymeyer of Bellevue, Wash., and Gary (Linda) Neymeyer of Bella Vista, Ark.
She is also survived by several grandchildren, stepgrandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her sisters, Violetta Schuchart of Traer, and Dorothy Halupnik of Cedar Rapids; and her brother, Howard Pippert of Dysart.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Eddie and Al; and her sisters, Frances Degner and Marie Bendull.
