Novak, Myrtle B.
Myrtle B. Novak, 92, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, June 25, 2011, at West Ridge Care Center following a long illness. Funeral Mass: 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Fairfax, by the Rev. Dustin Vu. Burial: Calvary Cemetery, Cresco, at 2 p.m. Friends may visit at the church after 9 a.m. Thursday. Teahen Funeral Home is serving the family.
Myrtle is survived by a son, Charles (Rachael) Novak of Marietta, Ga.; daughter, Linda Rybak (Don) of Cedar Rapids; and three grandchildren, Matthew and Thomas Novak and Laura Rybak.
Myrtle was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Virgil; and five brothers and sisters.
Myrtle Bertha Novak was born March 14, 1919, in Granger, Minn. She married Virgil George Novak on Nov. 20, 1939, in Cresco. He died in 2002. Myrtle enjoyed gardening, fishing and sewing. Myrtle will be remembered as a loving and wonderful wife, mother and grandmother.
The family would like to thank the staff at Meadowview and West Ridge for their care and compassion over the last years.
A memorial fund has been established in Myrtle's name.
