Nost, Joyce I.
Joyce I. Nost, 79, longtime resident of Iowa City, died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013, at the Crestview Care Center in West Branch.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City. There will be visitation one hour prior to the services on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial donations can be made in her memory to Mercy Hospital Foundation or the Eastern Iowa Alzheimer's Foundation. Online condolences may be sent for her family through the Web at .
Joyce I. Julis was born Feb. 22, 1933, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Jerry and Lela (Alden) Julis. She moved to Iowa City where she attended school, graduating from City High School with the class of 1951. She married Harold M. Nost on July 17, 1955, in Iowa City. The couple lived on Dearborn Street for many years, in fact over 47 years for Joyce before moving. Joyce worked for Mercy Iowa City in Iowa City for over 22 years retiring on St. Patrick's Day of 1995. During retirement she and Harold enjoyed traveling and camping in their RV, meeting many new friends along the way. She was an avid Iowa Hawkeye Fan, enjoying most all of their sports; she enjoyed listening to music and watching movies.
Her family includes her son, John of West Branch; and grandson, Eric Nost of Lexington, Ky.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold, in 1993; and a brother, John Julis.
