NORMAN "TIB" WILKERSON

Norman "Tib" Eugene Wilkerson died Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2014, at Audie L. Murphy Memorial VA Hospital in San Antonio, Texas. He lived 85 years.
Tib was born in North English, Iowa, on Feb., 13, 1929, to William Henry and Hattie Mae Morrison Wilkerson. Tib graduated from North English High School in 1946. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1946 to 1948. Tib married Bonnie Lou Wiersema on Sept. 17, 1949, in Clinton.
He was employed at Clinton Foods in Clinton, the North English Creamery, where he was a cream route driver, and finished his career at the University of Iowa motor pool with 30+ years of service, driving the boys' football, wrestling, baseball and basketball teams all around the country.
Tib is survived by five children, Kristi (Tom) Klein of North English, Suellen (David) Seaba of Lake Ponderosa, Gregg (Elvia) Wilkerson of Converse, Texas, Doreen Ducey of Charleston, S.C., and Daina (Laura) Wilkerson of New Braunfels, Texas; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; four brothers and sisters, Frances Littrel of North English, Edward Wilkerson of Ottumwa, Dolores Wardenburg of Williams-burg and Robert (Butch) Wilkerson of North English.
Tib was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, and brothers, Leonard, William (Dean), Clarence (Squirt) and Charles (Chod) Wilkerson.
A Celebration of Life memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 29, at Powell Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North English. Pastor Luke Caster will officiate. Visitation will be Sunday, Dec. 28, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
A general memorial fund has been established.
