Norman Eugene McCreary, 82, passed away at the VA Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa, on Monday, Aug. 22, 2022.
A private service will be held in his honor.
Norman was born on Dec. 16, 1939, in Marshalltown, Iowa. He was the son of the late Louis and Lola (Lane) McCreary. He was a veteran in the U.S. Air Force. On May 1, 1976, Norman married Virginia Lee Counterman, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa.
Those left to cherish Norman’s memory are his children, Christina (Jim) Hall of Tennessee, and Michael (Dianne) McCreary of Texas; his grandchildren, Bradley McCreary, Texas, Jennifer (Nathan) Nauta, of California, Angela (Shawn) Cambridge of Texas, Kelly McCreary of Texas, and Brian McCreary of Texas; and his sister, Judith Dymond of Des Moines, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia; and his parents.
