Norman Arthur Nietert, 91, of Springville, died Saturday, August 31, 2024. Services: 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 5, 2024, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories, where a visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. until service time. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery with full military honors.
Survivors include his wife of 71 years, Mary Nietert, his children, Bill (Brenda) Anamosa; Doug (Lori) Marion; Mark (Dana) Springville; Jeff (Judy) Toddville; Sue (Brian Tichy) Springville; Katie (BJ Johnson) Ansted, West Virginia, 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Norman was born on November 2, 1932, in Central City, Iowa, the son of Raymond and M. Ione (Powers) Nietert. He married Mary M. McGowan on September 30, 1952 in Central City, Iowa. Following 2 years of service in Japan and Korea, Norman returned home and began farming.
In addition to farming, Norman served on the boards of Linn Coop, AMPI and Springville Telephone.
Norman was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Dave.
