Norma L. Sherwood, 84, of Belle Plaine, Iowa, went home to be with the Lord, Friday, July 6, 2018, at
St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 11, 2018, at Hrabak-Neuhaus Funeral Service in Belle Plaine. Burial will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery, Belle Plaine.
Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 10, 2018, at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the family.

Norma was born Aug. 7, 1933, to Clarence and Grace (Hall) Olson on their home farm south of Malcom, Iowa. She graduated from Brooklyn High School in 1951.
On May 16, 1953, Norma married James L. Sherwood in Brooklyn, Iowa. The couple were blessed with four boys and raised their family in Belle Plaine. Norma worked for Anthony's, Cody's Photography and for the Belle Plaine school lunch service for 18 years until retirement.
Norma was an excellent seamstress and was known around town for making cookies. She was a member of the Belle Plaine American Legion Auxiliary.
Norma had a great love for family. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren's events, in which she never missed.
She is survived by her sons, Randy (Bonnie) of Van Horne, Scott (Sondra) of Belle Plaine, David (Ellen) of Chelsea and Chad (Kris) of Atkins; grandchildren, Austin Sherwood, Stephanie Sherwood, Jordan (Sam) Sherwood, Zhasmin Gadzhiyeva of Kazakhstan, Chet (Talia) Mumby, Chad Olson, Nick Sherwood, Clay (Courtney) Waterbury, Zach Sherwood and Keaton Sherwood; great-grandchild, Beckham Rodriguez; brother, Lloyd (JoAnn) Olson of Brooklyn; brothers-in-law, Charlie (Joy) Sherwood of Eldridge and Terry Shedenhelm of Belle Plaine; sister-in-law, Winifred Schild of Chelsea, along with many more loving nieces and nephews.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James (2009); brother, Gerald (Ella Mae) Olson; sister, Ruth (Harvey) Tindle; sister-in-law, Ruth Ann Shedenhelm; and nephews, Steve Tindle and Mack Olson.
