Norma J. Berns, 86, of Marion, passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2020. A public visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday,
June 8, at the Cedar
Memorial Park Chapel of Memories Stateroom. A private funeral mass will be at St Joseph Catholic Church.
Norma was born Sept. 5, 1933, in Council Bluffs, the daughter of George and Clara (Carlson) Kelley. Norma was united in marriage to Bill "Willie" Berns on Sept. 1, 1954. Together, Norma and Willie owned The Nibble Nook for many years. Norma enjoyed oil painting, quilting and playing cards and Sudoku. Norma was a longtime member of St Joseph Catholic Church in Marion.
Left to cherish Norma's memories are her husband of 65 years, Willie Berns; daughter, Bobbie "Barb" (Doug) Van Hoeck; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and brothers, Jim and Larry Kelley.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents; daughters, Tonie Blohm and Terrie Vance; son, Lyle Berns; one sister; and three brothers.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Catholic Charities or Ames High School.
