Norma Hadrava, 88, of Ottumwa, formerly of Cedar Rapids, passed away May 10, 2018, peacefully with her loved ones around her. Norma Jeanne (Zimmerman) Hadrava was born Feb. 1, 1930, in Overton, Neb., the daughter of Eugene and Olive (Martin) Zimmerman. She graduated from McKinley High School in Cedar Rapids in June 1947.
She was an administrative assistant for the city of Cedar Rapids for over 30 years, secretary of the Iowa Dental Hygienists, president of the Iowa Secretaries Association, and a volunteer at Mercy Hospital in Cedar Rapids.
She was a member of Valley View Baptist Church, formerly Dairydale Baptist Church, in Cedar Rapids for 78 years. She attended Bible Baptist Church in Ottumwa for the last years of her life. Norma served the Lord her whole life.
She will be deeply missed by her daughters, Linda (Gary) Myers of Cedar Rapids, Karen (Paul) Brandt of Kalona and Pam (Greg) Schell-Cloyd of Ottumwa; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many special friends, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; nine siblings; a son-in-law; and many dear friends.
Visitation services will be held in Ottumwa at Bible Baptist Church on Tuesday, May 15, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., with memorial service and lunch to follow. Visitation services also will be held in Cedar Rapids at Valley View Baptist Church on Wednesday, May 16, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., with memorial service and lunch to follow. Memorials may be made to BBC Shoe Pantry in Ottumwa at 944 W. Williams St., Ottumwa, IA 52501. Arrangements are entrusted with Sinnott Funeral Home in Ottumwa.
