Norma Jean Buser, 76, of Cedar Rapids, passed away peacefully Monday, Feb. 7, 2022, at MeadowView Memory Care Village. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 11, at St. Jude Catholic Church with burial to follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 10, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling St. SW, where there will be a 7 p.m. parish vigil.
Norma was born May 30, 1945, in Waterloo, the daughter of Clarence J. and Della Schilling. She was united in marriage to Leonard Buser on Feb. 24, 1968, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids. Norma worked for many years as in-home day-care provider, until her retirement in 1985. She was a member of the Red Hats and St. Jude Catholic Church. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, cooking, trying new recipes and most of all spending time with her family.
Norma is survived by her husband of over 53 years, Leonard; her children, Sandy (Don) Kluth and Mike Buser, both of Cedar Rapids; three grandchildren, Cody Adams and Kelsey (Drew) Anderson and Mariah Buser; a great-grandson, Mason Anderson; her brother, Glen (Joy) Schilling; and her sister-in-law, Joann Schilling.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter-in-law, Paula Buser; her brothers, Raymond, Richard (Georgia) and Merle Schilling; and her sisters, Shirley (Jim) Hanson and Helen (Bruce) Cregeen.
Memorials may be directed to the family.
