Nora Sutton, 90, of Cedar Rapids, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, June 5, 2016, at Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha. Visitation: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, June 13, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Services: 1 p.m. Monday following the visitation. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her children, Donald (Patty) Petersen, Ronald (Wendy) Petersen, Deborah Jackson, Donna (Michael) Cummins, James (Holly) Moore and Steven Moore; 22 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Nora; and a grandson, Michael Petersen.
Nora was born April 28, 1926, in Iowa City, Iowa, daughter of Nora Ellen Hess. She married Bill Sutton, who later passed. Nora worked for Ernie's Tavern for 22 years, Sykora Bakery in Czech Village for four years and also at Cramers in downtown Cedar Rapids. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, going to garage sales, shopping, dancing and reading.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha.
