Nissen, JoAnne
JoAnne Nissen, 70, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Friday, Dec. 31, 2010. Celebration of Life: 11:30 a.m. Friday at Cedar Memorial Park Family Center, by Celebrant Julie Freese, with a reception following. Private inurnment: Cedar Memorial Park Mausoleum.
JoAnne is survived by her husband, Bill; daughter, Carrie and her husband, Tom Merritt, and their children, Tommy and Will, all of Chicago; sisters, Betty Jean Walsh of Minneapolis and Virginia Perry of West Liberty; and brother, Arthur and wife Mary O'Haver Jr. of North Liberty.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
JoAnne graduated from West Liberty High School and later the University of Iowa, with a degree in education. She volunteered in the Cedar Rapids school system and was a member of Elmcrest Country Club. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who devoted her life to her family.
