Niner, Helen W.
Helen W. Niner, 92, of Marengo, died Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids. Funeral Services: 10 a.m. Monday, March 18, at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo. Burial will be in the Ladora Cemetery. Visitation: 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, March 17, at the funeral home.
A memorial fund has been established.
Helen is survived by her sister, Eileen Machen of Marion; and five nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carroll; and a brother, Duane.
Helen Winifred Cooperider was born March 7, 1921, in rural Marengo, Iowa, the daughter of David and Lola E. (Hoyt) Cooperider. She received her early education in the Iowa County schools and graduated from Marengo High School. Helen was a telephone operator for many years. She married Carroll L. Niner on Feb. 5, 1965, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. He passed away in 1975.
Helen was a member of First United Methodist Church in Marengo and the Happy Homemakers Club.
She was a beloved sister, aunt and friend to many. She will be missed by her family and friends.
The family wishes to thank the Mercy Medical Center staff for the compassion and care Helen received. A special thanks to Dr. Kenneth Cearlock for his attention and excellent care.
