Niermeyer, Henry Charles
Henry Charles Niermeyer, 94, of Lowden, died Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010, in the Clarence Nursing Home. Services: 1 p.m. Wednesday, Zion United Church of Christ, Lowden, with the Rev. Barbara Muhs officiating. Burial: Van Horn Cemetery, Lowden. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Chapman Funeral Home, Clarence.
Survivors include his daughters, Ellen (Steve) Waldorf of Dewitt, and Eileen (John) Delich of Springfield, Mo.; sons, Dwight and David of Lowden; six grandchildren, Emilie, Ryan, Joshua, Anthony, Nicholas and Jordan; and three stepgrandchildren, Anna, Betsy and Molly.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marilyn; brothers, Wilfred and Erwin; and stepsister, Emogene Conrad.
Henry was born Aug. 30, 1915, in Lowden, the son of William and Anna Strackbein Niermeyer. He married Marilyn Pauls on Sept. 24, 1950 at Lowden, she died May 20, 2002.
Henry and his wife Marilyn worked together on their dairy farm until retirement. He was a loving husband, father and friend. He was very active in Zion United Church of Christ, singing in the choir and a Sunday school teacher for many years. Henry had been a longtime 4-H leader and was a member of the Lowden Historical Society.
