NICK NASSIF JR.
Anamosa
Nick Nassif Jr. passed away Sunday, Aug. 6, 2017, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, on March 29, 1951, to Nick Sr. and Lorry Nassif. Nick was a wonderfully loved son, brother, father, uncle and grandfather, who put all his heart and soul into everything he did.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 11, at First Congregational Church, Anamosa. Pastor Mona Burns will officiate at the services. Interment will be in the St. George Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Friends may call from 4 until 7 p.m. Thursday at Goettsch Funeral Home, Anamosa, where a Trisagion service will be held at 7:15 p.m. Father Fred Shaheen will officiate at the services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Anamosa Class of 1969 or the Anamosa Marching Band.
Nick graduated from Anamosa High School in 1969 and attended ISU. Nick married Anita Clark in 1976. They later divorced. Over the next several years, Nick managed shoe stores in Indiana and Des Moines. Eventually, Nick and his daughters moved back to his hometown of Anamosa, where he bought his father's business, Nick's Shoe Clinic, and became a pillar in the community for over 16 years. Nick was involved in all his daughter's activities, supported the Anamosa High School marching band and spearheaded the epic Class of 1969 events. His final business venture was purchasing the Shoe Doctor in Iowa City, where he had worked for the past 23 years. But by far, his favorite pastime of all was spoiling his six grandkids with anything they ever asked for.
Nick was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Angela Mae; and his father, Nick Nassif Sr.
He is survived and will be greatly missed by his mother, Lorry Nassif of Anamosa; daughters, Alycia Maxwell (Tom) of Central City and Danielle Woerth (Brian) of Ames; sister, Karen Lauterbach (Dennis) of West Des Moines; brothers, Steve Nassif and Brian Nassif (Julie), all of Anamosa; grandchildren, Aiden and Zachary Woerth and Alexa, Addyson, Amber and Liam Maxwell; and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Anamosa Class of '69 and the Anamosa Marching Band.
