NICHOLAUS "NICK" GEVOCK

Nicholaus F. "Nick" Gevock, 80, of Washington, Iowa, died Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2015, at Mercy Iowa City following compli-cations from a stroke. Mass of the Resurrection will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. James Catholic Church in Washington, with Father Bernie Weir officiating. Visitation will begin noon Friday at Jones & Eden Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Prayer services will be at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Military honors will be accorded following the Mass at St. James Catholic Church. Interment will take place at Cambrian Cemetery, rural Columbus Junction, at a later date.
Memorials have been established for the Washington All Veterans Memorial or St. James Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife, Sadie Gevock of Washington; four daughters, Deb Amsbaugh and husband John of Polk City, Je Muhlenbruch and husband Steve of Latimer, Jo Waters and husband David of Phoenix, Ariz., and Angie Gevock of McAllen, Texas; six grandchildren, Megan, Morgan, Dillon, Abby, Shannon and Nick; and two great-grandchildren, Braxton and Trennen. Nick also is survived by one sister, Doris West and husband Tom of Wickenburg, Ariz.
