NICHOLAS "NICK" ALAN NOVAK
Belle Plaine
Nicholas "Nick" Alan Novak, 29, of Belle Plaine, passed away peacefully Nov. 2, 2015, in the presence of his family following a sudden illness.
Nick was born Sept. 19, 1986. He graduated from Belle Plaine High School in 2005. He attended Belmont University in Nashville, Tenn., and received his B.A. in music/business in three years – 2008.
Following graduation, he returned to Iowa working part time at Subway and full time at Keystone Savings Bank. Nick then took a position at Chelsea Savings Bank in Belle Plaine and continued to manage Subway.
Nick's Christian faith and passion for music touched the lives of many people. He sang his first wedding solo at the age of 12. He was 13 when he began playing and singing in church.
Nick is survived by his mother and father, Tracy and Ted Novak; brother, Ben Novak; grandparents, Edward and Joan Novak and Mike and Bette Bevins; uncles, Brian, Keith and John Novak and Dan and Scott Bevins; aunt, Victoria Pavisha; and many first and second cousins.
While it was God's will, we will miss Nick's beautiful singing voice and his dry wit sense of humor that was uplifting and always made us smile.
The family wishes to especially thank the doctors, nurses and staff in the Intensive Care Unit at St. Luke's. Their care and commitment to doing everything they could is top notch and greatly appreciated by this family.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 6, at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Belle Plaine, with Father Mike Mescher and Deacon Joe Behounek officiating. Visitation is Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Hrabak Funeral Service. Burial will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery, Belle Plaine.
