Nicholas 'Nick' Nelligan
NICHOLAS "NICK" DRAKE NELLIGAN
Cedar Rapids
Nicholas "Nick" Drake Nelligan, 19, of Cedar Rapids, was born June 17, 1999, and gained his angel wings on Sept. 11, 2018, due to a horrific car accident. Nicholas's celebration of life will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 23, at Manhattan Pavilion (on Ellis Boulevard).
Nicholas was the son of Denise and Jeff Beaman. He was a father to two dogs, Zeus and Nana; a brother; an uncle; and a faithful friend to so many. Nicholas had six siblings, Damian, Stephanie, Laura and Allen Nelligan, along with Angela Dove and Joseph Beaman. He also had nieces and nephews whom he loved very much, Jordan, Christopher, William, Casandra, Dominic and Courtney. Nicholas was taken in by JoAnna and Leland Hutchison and their children, Austin, Cody and Kaitlyn, who treated him as their own family.
He was preceded in death by his son, (dog) Zeus; uncle, Dennis Ray Alberts; stepfather, Robert Woods (Bobby); grandparents, Patrica and "Buck" Robert Alberts; and great-grandparents, Gene, Bub and Kenneth Montgomery and Jud and Laura Alberts.
The ones who truly knew Nicholas knew he loved life, his family and friends. His best friends, Anthony and London, were always there for him, as he was for them. He looked up to his older brother, Damian, as all little brothers should. Now we all get to look up to Nicholas. We know he is watching from above and working real hard to get ready for us to be with him again. Nicholas, you keep grinding and know your family will try our hardest to make your dreams come true. Nicholas, like most of us, was blinded on the effect he had on our lives. He was his mother's sunshine, her rock. Nicholas' smile, laugh and sense of humor was one in a million. You may be gone but you will never be forgotten; you will live through your family and friends.
