Lost Nation
Nicholas A. Becker, 36, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Lost Nation, passed away Monday, Nov. 28, 2016, at his home. His funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 2, at Union Presbyterian Church in Lost Nation. A visitation will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the church. Burial will be at Smithtown Cemetery in rural Lost Nation. Lahey Funeral & Cremation Service is assisting the family with his services.
Nicholas Arthur was born Feb. 1, 1980, in Maquoketa, Iowa, to Noel and Sandy Louise (Eygabroad) Becker. He graduated from Midland High School and went on to Indian Hills Community College to earn his degree in computer business management. He worked for ADM in Cedar Rapids for over 15 years.
Nick was a member of Union Presbyterian Church in Lost Nation. He spent his time being involved in a pool league and a poker league. His favorite card game was 500. Being outdoors was where he liked to spend his time. He loved his two cats. Nick was a loving and caring person who would do anything for anyone who needed help. His greatest memories were from spending time with his family, especially his nephew, Max, whom he loved dearly.
Those left to cherish his memories are his mother, Sandy (Mike) Becker Franzen of Monmouth; a brother, Nathan (Janna) Becker of Monmouth; a nephew, Max; maternal grandparents, Erma and Wayne "Buzzy" Eygabroad; paternal grandmother, Wanda Becker; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather and his father.
Memorials may be directed to his family in his honor.
