Newton, Eunice I.
Eunice I. Newton, 96, passed away peacefully Monday, July 18, 2011, surrounded by her family at Mercy Medical Center from complications of a stroke. Private family graveside services will be held at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
She is survived by her children, Marilyn Stander, Betsy Hartson, Terry (Janet) Newton, Randy (Judy) Newton, Dixie (Darrel) Dellamuth, Brenda (Daryl) Meyer and 90 plus grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her daughter, Susan; and her grandson, Jim Frimmil.
Eunice was born May 17, 1915, the daughter of Harry and Orpha Pearson. She attended school in Van Horne and Blairstown. In June of 1933, she married her husband of 42 years, Lester Newton. They made their life farming in Blairstown and were the parents of seven children. Eunice loved life, traveling with the “girls,” playing cards and was an active member of the United Presbyterian Church in Blairstown. She was the most loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother anyone could ever ask for.
