Newhard, Steven A.
Steven A. Newhard, 72, of Davenport, formerly of Anamosa, passed away peacefully Thursday, Nov. 14, 2013, at Genesis Medical Center, West Central Park Avenue, Davenport. Memorial visitation, in celebration of his life, will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21, at Weerts Funeral Home, Kimberly at Jersey Ridge Road, Davenport. Inurnment will be private at Riverside Cemetery, Anamosa.
He was born in 1940 in Anamosa, the son of Phila Louise. He served in the Army from 1960 to 1962, stationed in Germany. Steven worked in janitorial service for several local businesses. He enjoyed his family pets and loved helping his friends and neighbors at Luther Crest.
Survivors include his mother, Phila Anderson, Davenport; son, Ryan Newhard and husband Tony Beaver, Dubuque; granddaughter, Dorthea Johns and fiance Justin Gokie, Lincoln, Neb.; great-grandchildren, Joslyn Johns and Xander Johns; and a brother, Robert Gene Newhard, Anamosa.
He was preceded in death by a son, Aaron Newhard
