Netolicky, Lumear 'Bud'
Lumear “Bud” Netolicky, 91, of Cedar Rapids, died Oct. 27, 2010, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha. Funeral mass will take place at 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 30, at St. Pius X Catholic Church. The Rev. Phil Thompson will officiate. Entombment will take place at Cedar Memorial Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. today at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home and after 8 a.m. Saturday at the church.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Margaret; sisters-in-law, Carol (Zeman) Corrigan and Dorothy Zeman; and nieces, grandnieces, nephews and grandnephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Adeline Reha and her husband, Edwin, and Wilma Wilson and her husband, Carroll; brothers, Charles and his wife, Dorothy, Emil and Leo; and brothers-in-law, Bernard Zeman and Jim Corrigan.
Lumear “Bud” was born Nov. 1, 1918, in Solon, the son of Charles and Emma (Chehak) Netolicky. On Feb. 14, 1944, he was united in marriage to Margaret Zeman at St. Ludmila's Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids. He graduated from West Branch High School. He was the owner and operator of Netolicky Radiator and Air Conditioning Service, retiring in 1985.
He enjoyed traveling in the U.S. and Europe, as well as Iowa football. His hobby was wood carving.
Bud belonged to St. Pius X Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus 909, where he was a 4th degree knight, SCORE and the Cedar Valley Woodcarvers Club.
Memorials may be made to St. Pius X Catholic Church, the Woodlands at The Meth-wick Community, Hallmar or to a charity of the donor's choice.
