Nelson, Judith (Judy) Kay
Judith (Judy) Kay Nelson, 76, passed away Sept. 5, 2012, at the Rehabilitation and Nursing Center of the Rockies in Fort Collins, Colo. following a lengthy illness.
She was born May 28, 1936 to Thomas and Connie Goodfellow in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and attended schools in Coralville and Iowa City, graduating from the University of Iowa School of Dental Hygiene in 1958. She moved to Colorado the same year and practiced her profession in several offices before and after moving to Fort Collins in 1967. She retired in 1998.
In early years, Judy was active in the Fort Collins Junior Women's Club and Fort Collins Country Club and enjoyed both tennis and golf.
Judy is survived by her husband, retired county judge Don L. Nelson; a son, Thomas A. Nelson; and two granddaughters, Angela Lynne and Amy Nicole of Pueblo, Colo.; a daughter, Julie Ross and her husband, Adam, of Santa Barbara, Calif.; a brother, Douglas Goodfellow and his wife, Margaret, of Iowa City, Iowa; and a sister, Susan Havel and her husband, Dennis, of Aurora, Colo.
Contributions in her memory may be made to Front Range Hospice in care of Allnutt Funeral Service, 650 W. Drake Road, Fort Collins, CO 80526. A private family memorial is planned.
