Nekola, Gladys M.
Gladys M. Nekola, 78, of Toledo, died Wednesday, March 9, 2011, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton after losing a battle with cancer. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Tama by the Rev. Michael Mescher. Burial will be private Monday afternoon. Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Hrabak Funeral Home in Belle Plaine and after 10 a.m. Monday at the church.
She is survived by her son, Rex of Toledo; daughters, Suzanne Nekola of Grinnell, Geri (Jeff) Doyle of Newton, Regina (Casey) Hild of Atlanta, Ga., and Lorraine (Jon) Howard of Omaha, Neb.; stepsister, Helen Timms of Galveston, Texas; six grandchildren and exchange student Juan Ochra of Lima, Peru / Dubuque, Iowa.
A memorial fund has been established.
