Neel, Harold L.
Harold L. Neel passed away Thursday, Sept. 22, 2011. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, Oct. 23, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 2 until 3 p.m.
Harold will be lovingly remembered by his children: Daniel E. (Carol) Neel of Marion, Cassandra N. (Gordon) Varner of Louisville, Ky., and Thomas E. (LeAnn) Neel of Cedar Rapids; six grandchildren, Jennifer Sadinsky, Rebecca Johnson, Steven Neel, Amy Neel, Amy Tierney and Rafferty Neel; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dorothy V. Neel; his brothers, Hubert, Gerald, Ennis, Glen and Earl Neel; and a sister, Herma Neel.
Harold was born Oct. 27, 1919, in Marshalltown, Iowa, the son of Gene and Lois (Burr) Neel. On Oct. 10, 1944, he married his wife of 62 years, Dorothy V. Lindstrom. Harold was a carpenter for Loomis Bros Construction from 1953 until 1982. He served in the Air Force during World War II.
Harold enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, traveling and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
The family would like to express their thanks to Cottage Grove Place and Hospice of Mercy.
