Nebergall, Max E.
Max E. Nebergall, 90, of Tipton, died Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2010, in Hallmark Care Center, Mount Vernon. Memorial services: 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, at Fry Funeral Home, Tipton, with the Rev. David Lorenzen officiating. Burial will follow in Tipton Masonic Cemetery.
A general memorial fund has been created in his memory.

Max, son of Floyd Edgar and Ethel Mae Nauman Nebergall, was born Dec. 22, 1919, in Tipton, (on his mother's birthday!). On Oct. 1, 1944, he was united in marriage to Ruth Eldora Owen in Tipton. Max was a 1939 graduate of Tipton High School and lived his life as a farmer and businessman in Cedar County. He was known for raising Shetlands, P. O. As, Belgians and miniature horses. Max and his wife, Ruth, owned two businesses in Tipton, The Clothes Line and The Feed Bag.
Max is survived by his daughter, Lynette (Mike) Richards of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; grandchildren, Mike (Liza) Richards and their children, Leah Jane and Mileah, of Cedar Rapids; Benjamin (Joy) Richards of Las Vegas, Nev.; Solomon Richards and daughter, Natasha, of Cedar Rapids; Mel Richards of Cedar Rapids; Ben Nebergall of Denver, Colo.; Jordan (Leslie) Nebergall and children, Tatum and Wyatt, of Tipton; and Allison (Beau) Holub and children, Landon and Ethan, of Tipton; sister, June (Jack) Reeve of Tipton; and daughter-in-law, Ruth Nebergall of Cedar Rapids.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ruth on Sept. 1, 2003; son, Owen, on April 11, 2001; sisters, Frances Langley and Jeane Forrey; and brothers, Clare Nebergall, Jay Nebergall and Harve Nebergall.
Natasha, his great-granddaughter, said, “I know what we can say about Grandpa - he loved ice cream, his little horses, and all of us!”
