Neal Clynton Brockmeyer, 87, of Delhi, died Friday, Nov. 28, 2014, at Monticello Nursing and Rehab. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center,
Marion.
Survivors include his children, Glenn (LaNette) Brockmeyer of Woodburn, Ore., Linda (Phil) Maitland of Keystone, Karla (Dan) Kelley of Monticello and Paul (Hiroko) Brockmeyer of Altus, Okla.; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one brother, Arlyn Brockmeyer of Manchester.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jean Ann (Story) Brockmeyer; brothers, Carrol, Lester and Bobby Brockmeyer; and sister, Elverna Belamy.
Neal was born Oct. 2, 1927, in Woodcenter, Iowa, the son of Clarence and Loida (Kenoke) Brockmeyer. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Korean War. Neal was a member of the VFW, American Legion, Lions Club, the World Wide Church of God and was a volunteer firefighter for 25 years. He enjoyed the Lawrence Welk Show, going for walks, and was an avid reader of the Bible.
