Narda Delores Walters, 67, of Marion, died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2015, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Funeral services: 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion. The family
will greet friends two hours before the service at the funeral home on Saturday. Per Narda's wishes, all attending are welcome to wear casual dress. Burial: 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 19, at Strawberry Point Cemetery.
Survivors include her ex-husband and caregiver, Larry Walters of Marion; daughters, Lori Wilson of Marengo and Lacie (Tony Cena) Walters of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Shayl and Caden Wilson; siblings, Marian Zupke, Ronald (Lana) Miersen, Virginia (Milton) Dempsey, Roger (Janet) Miersen and Richard Miersen; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Narda was born June 12, 1947, in Oelwein, Iowa, the daughter of Donald and Dorothy (Burke) Miersen. She worked at Rockwell Collins in Cedar Rapids for 40 years until her retirement in 2005, and was a member of Local IBEW 1362.
Narda greatly enjoyed arts and crafts, attending craft shows, flower arranging, jewelry and working puzzles. She had an extensive doll collection that was donated to the Strawberry Point Museum. Narda also loved animals and riding her motorcycle.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the humane society.
Narda's family wishes to extend a special thank you to the Sixth Floor Rehab staff at St. Luke's Hospital.
