NANCY SHELDON
Clarence
Nancy Jo Sheldon, 57,
of Los Angeles, Calif., formerly of Clarence, went home to be with the Lord after a sudden pulmonary embolism sometime between Dec. 30, 2014, and Jan. 7, 2015, when she was found.
Nancy was born on Aug. 8, 1957, the seventh of eight children for parents, Gilbert and Rosalie Sheldon. She graduated from Clarence-Lowden High School in 1975 and moved to Upland, Calif., in 1976. She worked several places before becoming a legal secretary for many years, meeting the likes of celebrities like Loni Anderson and Vidal Sassoon.
Nancy enjoyed visiting art museums and the Petersen Automotive Museum and its collection of antique cars, including some of the most famous from movies and TV. She loved visiting both Santa Monica and Venice Beach and took advantage of all they had to offer.
The last years of her life were spent living quite simply as a minimalist, focusing on eating mostly healthy, organic foods. She enjoyed the company of her cat, Adiel.
With great passion and zeal, Nancy lived her life with strong convictions. That often meant taking the more difficult path and led her to face extreme challenges. She now can enjoy eternal peace.
Nancy was preceded in death by two brothers, Dennis and Philip; and her mother, Rosalie.
Survivors include her father, Gilbert of Clarence; four sisters, Connie of Mankato, Minn., Janice of Eldridge, Barbara (John) of Detroit, Mich., and Jill (Craig) of Cedar Rapids; one brother, Ronnie of Lompoc, Calif.; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Nancy was cremated and her ashes were scattered off the Pacific coast in California.
