Nancy Jo (Jedlicka) Pruess, 54, of Tipton, died peacefully Sunday, Sept. 19, 2021, at home while under the care of Iowa City Hospice and with family at her side. A funeral officiated by Sherie Gates will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Tipton Middle School gym. Immediately following the funeral service, Nancy will be laid to rest in the St. Joseph's Cemetery in West Branch, Iowa. Also in the Tipton Middle School gym, there will be a public visitation from 2 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 22. In Nancy's memory, memorial funds have been established for Iowa City Hospice and the Tipton Middle School Special Education Program. Family asks that cards and memorials be mailed to 1003 Plum St., Tipton, IA 52772, in care of Chris Pruess. Online condolences may be shared at www.fryfuneralhome.com.
Nancy, the daughter of Kenneth William and Twyla Nadine (Parsons) Jedlicka, was born Friday, Dec. 23, 1966, in Iowa City, Iowa. She graduated with the Tipton Class of 1985. On May 18, 1996, Nancy was united in marriage to Chris Pruess at the Methodist Church in Mechanicsville, Iowa. Nancy was the Tipton Middle School secretary for 16 years. She had an infectious personality and selfless heart. She was known for her great sense of humor, beaming smile, laugh and beautiful blue eyes. She loved her job and helping children. Nancy had a deep appreciation for flowers and was especially fond of Gerbera Daisies. She also enjoyed decorating her home for the seasons, spending time with her family, her grandkids and her beloved pugs, Darla and Ray.
Nancy is survived by her husband, Chris; children, Ali (Clay Worrell) Cawiezell, West Branch, Iowa, Tyler (Emily) Cawiezell, Des Moines, Iowa, Samantha Pruess, Ely, Iowa, and Turner Pruess, Tipton, Iowa; sisters, Debbie (Clifford) Taylor, Mechanicsville, Iowa, Dixie (Dennis) Pelzer, Tipton, Iowa, Becky Gilbert, Bettendorf, Iowa, and Peggy (Bruce) Flockart, Mechanicsville, Iowa; and her grandchildren, Bohdan First and Arlo Worrell.
She was preceded in death by her parents; niece, Jennifer Flockhart; and her nephew, David Behrle.
