Nancy "Nan" Toll, 83, of Marion, died Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2018, at Willow Gardens. Per her request, she will be cremated. A private celebration of Nan's life will be held at a later date. Entrusted with the arrangements is Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Nan was born on June 22, 1935, to Rueben and Ella (Fuhrman) Schumann in Wausau, Wis. She was united in marriage to William Toll on Sept. 29, 1954, in Crown Point, Ind. She was employed at Mercy Hospital as an LPN for many years. Later in life, Nan was the assistant director of nursing at Manor Care. Nan worked as a lunch lady for many years at Carriage Hill Elementary in Papillion, Neb. Nan enjoyed reading and adult coloring. She especially enjoyed socializing with the residents at Trinity Pointe Senior Living.
She is survived by her children, Michele (Michael) Zika of Marion, Kim (Mark) Ward and Judd (Jerri) Toll, both of Cedar Rapids, and Todd (Wendy) Toll of Robins; six grandchildren; sisters, Joyce Bassett of Chicago, and June Toll of Seattle, Wash.
Nan was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and grandson, Tyler Toll.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the family.
