Nancy J. Kress, 75, of Clarence, died Friday, Jan. 9, 2015, at the Clarence Nursing Home. Funeral services: 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13, at St. John's United Church of Christ, Clarence, with the Rev. David Mears officiating.
Burial: Dayton Valley Cemetery, Clarence. Visitation: 9 a.m. to service time at the church.
Born Oct. 8, 1939, in Anamosa, Iowa, the daughter of Russell and Jeanette Hunter Orr, she married Ronnie Kress on Aug. 3, 1963, in Onslow. He died April 27, 1996.
Nancy ran JNG Cafe in Onslow with her mother from 1953 to 1963. She worked in the Jones County Courthouse for five years and the Clarence Savings Bank for 22 years.
Nancy enjoyed antiquing, dancing, shooting pool and spending time with her family and grandchildren.
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Survivors include her sons, Rodney (Julie) of Clarence and Jeffrey (Jennifer) of Eldridge; and grandchildren, Logan, Taylor, Carson and Keaton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and stepfather, Gordon Sawyer.
