Born Aug. 2, 1949, to parents Stanley and Margaret Hanish (both deceased), the third of seven children, in Beloit, Wis. Graduated and received a master's degree from the University of Iowa. Director of the United Way in Fort Dodge, Iowa, before dedicating herself as a mother, and adjunct faculty member, teaching human services at Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids. Lost to us on Oct. 31, 2021, after long battling health issues, she joined daughter Carolyn Bryn in heaven.
She was a wonderful woman and will be missed by husband, Edward; sons, Jonathan and Zachary (wife Amanda); grandchildren, Caden, Devin and Chloe; brothers, Lance, Michael, Stephen and Christopher Hanish;and sisters, Mary Wright and Patricia Howe. A visitation will be held on May 7 at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 2 to 5 p.m. Private entombment at Cedar Memorial Park Mausoleum.
