Nancy J. (Clark) Fare, 77, of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, July 26, 2016, at Mercy Hallmar, Cedar Rapids. Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Private family burial at a later date at Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include children, Patricia Cain, Debbie Freerksen, Julieann Fare, Amy (Brett) Hart and Jay Fare; grandchildren, Daniel (Amy) Kolosik, Nicole and Cory Cain, Joel (Ashley) Freerksen, Austin Mrstik, Megan Bails, Ryan Wieneke and Maxwell, Zach and Makala Fare and Tanner Hart; great-grandchildren, Dade, Derick and Dason Kolosik, Lucas and Jeffery Cain, Raeleigh and Aiden Freerksen, Odien Wienke, and Cameron, Brooklyn and Arianna Bails; brother, Steve (Jessica) Farmer of Dana Point, Calif.; sister-in-law, Susan Clark of Apple Valley, Minn.; her best friend and cousin, Jan Bills; special family friend, Shana Roney; and many nieces and nephews who she loved dearly.
She was preceded in death by her husband and best friend, James "Jim" Fare; parents, John Clark and Helen (Riggins) Farmer; her second father, Richard J. Farmer; and brothers, Ronald J. Clark and Walter G. Clark.
Nancy was born on March 28, 1939, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of John and Helen (Riggins) Clark. She graduated from Wilson High School in 1957. Nancy worked at Rockwell Collins for 32½ years, retiring in 1995.
She was not one to sit idle and had a great love for children. Nancy returned to work part time at a daycare for two years. She was a union member of IBEW No. 1362. Nancy loved being a homemaker, crocheting, camping and babysitting for the grandchildren. She always had a camera in her hands. She also loved lunch with her girlfriends and was an avid reader. She was a member of the St. Mark's United Methodist Church.
