Nancy Sue Downing, 75,
of Marion, died Monday, Jan. 15, 2018, at St. Luke's Hospital. Services at 11 a.m. Monday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Burial at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from
2 to 4 p.m. Sunday.
Survivors include her husband, Marlyn; two sons, Michael (Kaye) of California and Lanny (Katie) of Marion; and a sister, Pat Swiger of Cedar Rapids. She is also survived by seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Scott; and a brother, Tom.
Nancy was born July 17, 1942, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Charles and Dorothy Stick Kennedy. She graduated from Washington High School in 1959. Nancy married Marlyn M. Downing on March 24, 1962, in Cedar Rapids.
Nancy worked in assembly at Collins and retired from there after 11 years of service. She volunteered at Tanager Place and also as a reader at Truman Elementary School. She enjoyed the time spent with her friends and beloved family.
Nancy will be forever remembered as a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother whose memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
