Nancy Burch, 68, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Sunday May 8, 2022, at the Hiawatha Care Center. Services are private. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Nancy was born March 13, 1954, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Jerry and Anna (Earsa) Hasek. She graduated from Kennedy High School in 1972. After graduating, she worked for Rockwell Collins and eventually retired from the USPS after 27 years.
In 2020, Nancy was diagnosed with dementia and a year later went to live at Country House Memory Care Facility. While there, she fractured her pelvis, spent eight days in St. Luke's Hospital and was then moved to the Hiawatha Care Center, where she died.
Nancy is survived by her son, Brett Weber of Cedar Rapids; her sisters, Linda (Roger) Wyatt of Hiawatha, Iowa, and Kathy (Mike) Couser and Peg Hartman, all of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; her brother, Charles (Connie) Hasek of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and her cat, Leah.
As a child, Nancy enjoyed spending time on her grandparents' farm. She loved horses and owned several of her own. After retiring, she enjoyed dancing, walking, baking cookies to share, reading and spending time with her son, Brett.
The family would like to thank St. Luke's Hospital and the Hiawatha Care Center for the excellent care she received.
