Naiyana Marie Stiles
Naiyana Marie Stiles
Cedar Rapids
Naiyana Marie Stiles, age 33, passed away at the AdventHealth Hospice Center in Altamonte Springs, Fla., after a long battle with lupus and renal failure. A service will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 22, at Oasis Church in the Hilton Garden Convention Center, 4640 N. River Blvd. NE, Cedar Rapids, with live stream at www.facebook.com/oasischurchfamily. Cremains burial will be on a future date at the Masonic Cemetery in Des Moines.
Naiyana was born in Bangkok, Thailand, on Nov. 22, 1989, and was the daughter of Nancy Newell Stiles
(Cedar Rapids) and John R. Stiles (Thailand). She lived nearly the entirety of her life in Cedar Rapids, attending Arthur, Franklin and Washington schools.
Naiyana was small but strong and had a zest for life that shone in her bright eyes and beautiful smile. She loved to play pool, cook, ride horses at camp, perform in drama, play music, dress in style and enjoy life with family and friends while facing medical issues. She loved her two furry best friends, dog Vinny, who passed five days after Naiyana, and cat, Sampson.
She is survived by her parents, brother, Jonathan (fiancee Katarina), of Chicago, half-sister, Plu, of Maine, aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. She was preceded in death by her Newell and Stiles grandparents, her cousin, Matt Stiles, and aunt, June Newell.
Her family would like to thank ALL of the medical communities who tended to Naiyana’s care and to the many friends of the Stiles family who have given unending love and support. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Naiyana’s name to the Lupus Foundation or the Cedar Valley Humane Society.
