Nagle, Marcia Ruth (Koch)
Marcia Ruth (Koch) Nagle, 72, of 624 Larch Lane in Iowa City, died at home Saturday, Dec. 26, 2009, of cancer. Marcia chose to be cremated. Memorial services will be held this Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service in Iowa City, with the Rev. Benjamin Maucere officiating. The family will greet friends Tuesday at the funeral home from 10 to 11 a.m. Private burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Iowa City.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Iowa City Hospice or the Unitarian Universalist Society in Iowa City.
Marcia was born Nov. 30, 1937, in Palatine, Ill., the daughter of Lawrence and Dora Koch. Growing up in the Chicago area, Marcia later moved to Iowa City, where she received a marketing degree from the University of Iowa. She married George Nagle Jr. on Aug. 16, 1958, in Iowa City.
Marcia enjoyed traveling and volunteering, knitting and playing duplicate bridge. She is remembered for her infectious smile, her strength and positive outlook. She was also a member of the Unitarian Universalist Society in Iowa City, PEO and Kappa Alpha Theta sorority.
Survivors include her children, Michelle Nagle (Alan Roe) of Iowa City, Tyler (Heather) Nagle and their children, Max and Hanna, of Charlotte, N.C., Courtney Nagle (Scott Burnett) and their children, Skyler and Hope, of St. Paul, Minn., and Heather (Brent) Fredrickson and their children, Marin and Ella, of St. Paul, Minn.; and her good friend of five years, Tom Kent of Iowa City.
Marcia was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George in 2002; and a brother, Larry Koch.
