N. Nadine Speer, 90, of Marion, died Friday, June 13, 2014, at Northbrook Manor. Services at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 17, at Sharon United Methodist Church. The Rev. Hyeunmee Kang will officiate. Burial at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the

Survivors include her husband, Donald; a daughter, Janet (John) Powers of Cedar Rapids; two sons, Frank (Sheryl) Gardner of Swisher and Rob (Dixie) Gardner of Cedar Rapids; stepdaughters, Debbie (Rick) Gordon of Houston, Texas, Lori Daly of New York, Marty Meyer of Elkader, Judy Groenwald of Newton and Kelley Stagg of Houston, Texas; and two sisters, Irma (Ray) Brown and Frances Hanson.
She also is survived by six grandchildren, Amy, Lisa and John Powers, Joy Gardner, Sarah Day and Gretchen Nehl; seven stepgrandchildren, Sara, Kevin, Brian, Christine, Amber, Andy and Joel; nine great-grandchildren; five stepgreat-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Nevetta Dawn Gardner; and brothers,
Norman and Junior Brown.
Nadine was born May 26, 1924, in Trenton, Mo., the daughter of Forrest and Beulah Walker Brown, and attended Wilson High School. She worked at Turner Microphone, Collins Radio and later as the executive officer for the Cedar Rapids Board of Realtors. She married Robert Gardner in 1940. He passed away in 1969. She later
married Donald L. Speer on Dec. 23, 1972, in Cedar Rapids.
Nadine was a faithful member of Sharon United Methodist Church. She enjoyed bowling, collecting head vases, traveling and especially the time spent with her many friends and beloved family. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
A memorial fund has been established.
