Nadine Frye
NADINE M. FRYE
Cedar Rapids
Nadine M. Frye was born May 25, 1922, to William and Emma Wysuph in Tyndall, S.D. On July 27, 2017, at the age of 95, she peacefully passed. She was married to Herbert L. Frye on Aug. 24, 1941, and they were together for 54 years until Herb's death in 1994. They are now, once again, complete and together, forever and always.
Nadine was engaging and kind and well-liked by everyone who had the good fortune to be part of her life. She was a true lady in every sense, who always had a kind word and a smile to share. When you looked at Nadine you saw class and dignity. She inspired as a strong, confident woman who held her head high and carried on, regardless of the many hardships and losses that she had endured in her life.
Most of her life was spent in South Dakota, where she and Herb built their home and raised their family of six children, Rita Frye-Lindgren (John, dec.), Kay Grant, Judy Guimond, Lynn Brooks (Larry), Craig Frye (Ronda) and Dennis Frye (Barb). She always was a loving, caring and generous mom to her children, and to their spouses, and as the family grew, to her 12 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren! Nadine was able to share priceless time with her children and their children all around the country. It was so special to have our homes become her homes, and to have our children grow up knowing their grandma and great-grandma.
Nadine's family would like to express our extreme gratitude for the years of loving care given to our mom and grandma by the caretakers of Linn Manor and the special attention shown to her, and us, by the staff of Hospice of UnityPoint.
Funeral services will be held at Crosby-Jaeger Funeral Home in Springfield, S.D., on Saturday, Aug. 5, at 10:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established at Crosby-Jaeger in honor of Nadine's special bond with her many furry friends, with all proceeds being donated to the Cedar Valley Humane Society.
